A Newport man is set to go on trial in November on charges he stabbed a man to death in 2012.
WPRI.com reported the trial was in its early stages last week when a mistrial was declared due to “circumstances unrelated to the case.”
Perryman allegedly stabbed and murdered 44-year-old Anthony E. Simmons, also of Newport, in an apartment on Gould Street. Witnesses said the pair had been arguing. Perryman pleaded not guilty.
