Newport Accepting Applications for City Planner Job

Do you have a master’s degree in urban planning with some work experience?

Are you up for the challenge of helping steer development in the challenging environment of an densely-developed island setting with tremendous historic properties and value?

If so, the city of Newport has a job for you.

Newport is looking for a full time city planner with a salary between $44,000 and $59,000 per year.

The application period is open until Dec. 29.

The right candidate will know how to deal with general planning, project and contract management. Land development regulations will be old hat. Sitting on committees and meetings should be no problem. And the task of long-range comprehensive planning, applying for and administering grants and supporting the city’s Planning Board should be a desirable challenge.
