Newport City Council Meeting Cancelled, Trash Pickup Delayed
The meeting will be rescheduled to a later date.

If you were planning on going to the Newport City Council meeting Wednesday night at the Pell Elementary School, there has been a change of plans.
Much like other municipal meetings across the state, the meeting has been cancelled as a result of the snowy conditions.
The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date, according to city officials.

Trash service will also be suspended on Wednesday.
“This will allow for time to clear the roads and for residents to prepare their carts for service safely,” the city said in a release.

Tuesday routes will be serviced on Thursday and Wednesday routes will be serviced on Friday. Thursday and Friday routes will be covered on Saturday.
