Newport County Chamber of Commerce Shows Off Local Businesses at EXPO 2011

What's it all about? EXPO is a chance for Newport County businesses to shine and show what they have to offer; there will be wine tastings as well as food demonstrations, balance screenings, door prizes and giveaways.

On Tuesday, March 8 the Newport County Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual EXPO in Newport.  This event is the only business-to-consumer EXPO in the region and gives both locals and visitors the chance to come and see what Newport County businesses have to offer.  This year, there will be over 100 local companies exhibiting, and past years have brought thousands of attendees.

The EXPO will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Goat Island, Newport.  There is complimentary parking at Goat Island, or park free at the Newport Gateway Center and take the Viking Trolley shuttle, which will be leaving every 15 minutes. The Gateway Center is located at 23 America’s Cup Boulevard in Newport.

Admission is free for Newport County Chamber Members and their employees, and only $3 for the general public.

There will be wine tastings as well as food demonstrations, balance screenings, soap box derby demos and live entertainment.  Attendees also have the chance to win door prizes, with grand prizes including an overnight stay at the Bristol Harbor Inn with dinner at DeWolf Tavern, courtesy of Bristol Harbor Inn, His & Hers Maui Jim sunglasses, courtesy of Eye Health Vision Centers, and an overnight stay in North Conway Grand Hotel, courtesy of Newport Hotel Group. Other door prizes include gift baskets and more.

The EXPO is sponsored by Eye Health Vision Centers and The Newport Daily News.
