Newport Gulls Announce Mascot Tryouts

Think you got what it takes to be Gully or Gully Jr., the high-flying mascots for the Newport Gulls baseball team?

The Newport Gulls are looking for volunteers to transform themselves into the team’s legendary mascots, Gully and Gully Jr., for home games this summer at Cardines Field.

The baseball club is holding tryouts for volunteers interested in serving as Gully or Gully Jr., mascots which for years have created joy in the hearts of hundreds of thousands of Gulls fans – both young and old alike. Tryouts will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Newport County YMCA, located at 792 Valley Road in Middletown.

Those interested in receiving more information about trying out to be Gully or Gully Jr. can contact Director of Baseball Operations Ryan Lauriat via email at operations@newportgulls.com, or by phone at 401-845-6832.
