Newport Gulls Need Volunteers for 2015 Season

Both returning and new volunteers are asked to attend an annual preseason staff meeting tonight in Middletown.

As a non-profit, community organization, the Newport Gulls have always depended on a dedicated group of volunteers to make game nights at Cardines Field possible. On Monday, June 1, at 6 p.m. at the Newport County YMCA at 792 Valley Road in Middletown, both returning and new volunteers are asked to attend the team’s annual preseason staff meeting.

The Gulls are still welcoming new volunteers interested in assisting in the following areas for any or all of the team’s 21 home games this June, July, and early August:

Volunteers willing to commit spending their summer nights at historic Cardines Field receive season passes for family, a volunteer meal card, team apparel, and, of course, the experience of a lifetime with the premier organization in summer collegiate baseball.

Several volunteers have been with the Gulls organization since the beginning in 2001, and many more have been involved for over a decade – the Gulls look forward to seeing them back again at Monday’s staff meeting at the YMCA, and on Opening Night 2015, Friday, June 5. New volunteers are invited to join the organization and find out first-hand what keeps those dedicated volunteers coming back, year after year, as the people who make Gulls baseball possible at Cardines Field.

Those interested in joining the Newport Gulls staff and becoming part of the Gulls family should attend Monday’s meeting at 6 p.m., or contact Ryan Lauriat, director of baseball operations, via email at operations@newportgulls.com or phone at 401-845-6832.
