Newport Public Works Holding Food, Household Supply Drive

From May 19 to 25, the public can drop off donations in bins around the city.

NEWPORT, RI — The City of Newport is calling for public assistance in collecting enough food and household supplies to completely fill a truck. The drive will benefit the Martin Luther King, Jr Community Food Bank. Across New England, public works departments will be hosting similar drives for National Public Works Week from May 19 to 25.

Donations bins will be placed around the city in the following locations:

  • Stop & Shop, 250 Bellevue Avenue and 199 JT Connell Highway
  • Newport City Hall, 43 Broadway
  • Public Works Office, 80 Halsey Street
  • Public Services office at 280 Spring Street
