NEWPORT SKATING CENTER HELPS NEWPORT STAY WARM WITH ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL AMICA INSURANCE COAT DRIVE
NEWPORT, RI, February 6, 2014 – Another year and yet another opportunity to give back to the community and ensure that those in need stay warm this winter season. The Newport Skating Center is proud to announce that the Amica Insurance Coat Drive was met with outstanding success yet again, as the rink collected a total of 360 new and slightly worn winter coats, thanks to the generosity of Amica employees and Skating Center visitors. The Newport Skating Center donated the coats to Child & Family of Newport County, as well as the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
The generosity of rink attendees who lent a helping hand this winter season was greatly appreciated by both local charities. “We, at Child & Family, are very grateful to have both Newport Skating Center and Amica as community partners. The winter coats received through this drive are vital and are definitely needed by families we serve.” Keith Tavares, Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Child & Family of Newport County.
