When Will Power Come Back In Newport?
More than 1,000 East Bay residents had their power restored throughout the day on Thursday.

NEWPORT, RI — Nearly 1,800 East Bay residents are without power on Thursday after a powerful nor'easter swept through overnight. While the worst of the storm is over, gusty winds will continue throughout the day.
Nearly 1,800 residents across Newport, Jamestown and Middletown were in the dark on Thursday morning, down to just 245 by the evening. Check the status of an outage using National Grid's interactive outage map. As is the case across the state, the remaining outages are labeled "unassigned" with an estimated restoration time of 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Strong winds continued to buffet the island throughout the day on Thursday, even as the rain moved out. Gusts peaked at 50 mph and a wind advisory was in place until 6 p.m.
