Newport Tennis, Pickleball Courts Reopen
Playgrounds, basketball courts and the FitPark will remain closed for the time being.
NEWPORT, RI — Rhode Island will enter Phase One of reopening Saturday following the expiration of the stay-at-home order. With some restrictions lifted, the city of Newport was made the decision to reopen tennis and pickleball courts starting Monday.
Social distancing guidelines will still be in place and crowd limits will be in effect.
Playgrounds, basketball courts and the FitPark will remain closed for the time being. Newport police will continue to conduct open-air compliance checks to make sure people are not gathering in groups of more than five, and that masks are being worn while in public areas.
