Newport Woman Arrested for Credit Card Fraud, Second Suspect Still At Large

The suspects used a stolen credit card to buy prepaid Visa cards from the Ocean State Job Lot in Middletown earlier this month.

Two people accused of using stolen credit cards to buy prepaid Visa cards at the Middletown Job Lot have been identified, and one of those charged is a 25-year-old Newport woman.

Middletown Police earlier this month shared photos of the suspects to media outlets in the hopes of identifying the male and female who allegedly committed the fraud at the East Main Road Ocean State Job Lot on March 3.

Police said they now have arrested Richard “RJ” Hill, 43, of Pawtucket and Ericka L. Jackson of Newport.

Both are facing charges of fraudulent use of credit cards, a felony.

Jackson was released on personal recognizance and is due to appear in court on May 7 for a Newport Attorney General screening conference.,

Hill has not yet been arrested for the charges, according to court records, and was in the middle of a court process for charges of controlled substance possession and domestic violence filed by North Kingstown Police in January.
