Newport's Easton's Beach Closed For High Bacteria Levels
The closure comes just one day after the department recommended closing four other Rhode Island beaches for high bacteria levels.

NEWPORT, RI — Easton's Beach is closed to swimming due to high bacteria levels, the Rhode Island Department of Health said Thursday.
The closure comes just one day after the department recommended closing four other Rhode Island beaches for high bacteria: Grinnell's Beach and Fogland Beach in Tiverton, Bonnet Shores in Narragansett and the Kent County YMCA Lower Pond in Warwick. Irons Homestead in Chepachet and Dyer Woods Campground in Foster are also closed.
For the latest beach closure information, visit the department's website or call the prerecorded beach line at 401-222-2751.
