Obituary: Anna E. Springett, 79, Loved Painting

Anna Elizabeth Springett, 79, of Newport, passed away quietly this week in Newport after a lengthy illness. Anna was born in Newport and resided in the city for many years. She was a graduate of Salve Regina University where she attained a BS Degree in Nursing. She was a registered nurse in Rhode Island prior to her retirement.

Anna enjoyed gardening and painting and spending time with her large extended Newport family. She leaves behind her loving husband Ted, her 3 sisters Serafina DeAsantis of Newport, Mary Bellagamba, and Rosemarie Nash of Middletown, RI, 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren and many lifelong Newport friends. She was a sister of the late Carlo Lozito and Salvatrice “Sally” Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna’s memory to the Village House Activities Fund, 70 Harrison Avenue Newport, RI, 02840.

Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI. A Church Service will take place at Emmanuel Church, corner of Spring and Dearborn Streets on Friday October 3rd, 2014 at 3:30 pm. Burial will be private.
