Parking and Traffic Restrictions For Newport Marathon this Weekend

Prepare for some road closures and traffic associated with the Newport Marathon this weekend.

From the Newport Police Department:

The Newport Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015 with the start at 7:30 am on Memorial Blvd at Easton’s Beach.

The runners will travel along Memorial Blvd. to the intersection of Thames Street and Americas Cup Avenue to lower Thames Street, along Wellington Ave to Harrison Ave, into and out of Fort Adams State Park, around the Ocean Drive onto Bellevue Ave to Ruggles Ave, to Ochre Point Ave to Annandale Road back onto Memoria

l Blvd by Easton’s Beach into Middletown and then return to the finish line at Easton’s Beach.
Parking will be restricted on Memorial Blvd around the beach as well as Old Beach Road. There will be temporary road closures along the route. Newport Police will be present at all major intersections to assist with the flow of traffic.
