Peregrine Group LLC and Peregrine Property Management hosts collection drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State

This year, on August 28th Peregrine Group LLC and Peregrine Property Management hosted a golf tournament called Peregrine Invitational at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence. The start of the tournament was kicked off with a collection drive for clothing and shoes to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS). The results of the collection drive were quite impressive said Lori Viner, Operations Director of BBBSOS’ Donation Center “The golf tournament yielded 1,800 lbs of cloth and a $100 cash donation. That is a significant collection for a 1 day drive.” The Donation Center staff, who helped coordinate the collection drive, was easy to work with a made it a smooth, collaborative process. The clothing donations made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State allow them to continue their work with their local mentoring programs by proving service to over 500 children throughout the state of Rhode Island, every year, by proving them with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. BBBSOS, the leading non-profit mentoring program in the state has a proven track record of achieving higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships, avoidance of risky behaviors and educational success in the children who have a consistent relationship with their mentor.

Brendan Kane, Partner with Peregrine Group LLC and Peregrine Property Management had this to say: “As a Board member of BBBSOS it was very important to me and our organization to do our part to help support the organization. BBBSOS does multiple events a year, from The Big Toast, The Big Night Out: BBBSOS’ annual Gala, etc, we saw an opportunity to do something slightly different and keep it within an event we already had scheduled. We have our golf event annually and know that it draws a significant number of people all of whom are movers and shakers in RI and more importantly are all generous of spirit. We simply took the mission of BBBSOS and coupled it with one of the ways they raise money today (collection drives, bins, etc) and simply challenged our guests of the Peregrine golf outing to raid their closest and donate as much as they could… we figured it was a huge 1 day drive after we were told it totaled 1800 lbs of donated clothing! Thank you to all of our network and business partners for making this the huge success that it was.”
