PHOTO: Students Break Ground in Rain Garden Project

Rogers students have completed two rain gardens on the high school's campus this week.

Shortly after the Newport School Committee formally supported  during its last meeting, two rain gardens have been implemented around campus. Teacher Scott Dickison has headed the project. 

Students dug out the two gardens on Monday, and then assessed them after Tuesday night's rain.

"They are doing what they are supposed to do!" Dickison said.

Dickison, who had previously requested funding and donations, said "the City stepped up" and the Aquidneck Land Trust also awarded them a grant.
