Police Cite Bloods Gang Member for Pot after Burnt-Out Headlight Stop
Police said the inside of the car smelled like burnt marijuana and a blunt was in a cupholder.
Newport police cited two Fall River men for marijuana possession on Tuesday after they were stopped for driving with a burnt-out headlight.
One of the men cited, Antonio Adrian Watts, 23, of 109 John St., Fall River, is a known member of the Bloods Gang, police said, and “has been a suspect in several shootings and assaults in the past,” police said.
Inside the car police said they saw a blunt in a cup holder and the car smelled like burning marijuana.

The driver, identified by police as Jermaine Burks, 20, of 2000 Bay St., Fall River, was stopped on Van Zandt Ave. near Butler Street at around 1:20 a.m.
A search of the car turned up a plastic bag containing about a half-gram of pot. The bag, located on the passenger seat floor, “appeared to have been bitten open and was wet as if it had just been inside of someone’s mouth,” the police report stated.

Both men were issued summons to appear in Municipal Court on April 9 and were released from the scene after neither showed signs of intoxication.
Burks was issued a warning for the broken headlight.
