Police approached Lessard behind building 137 and were able to confirm an active warrant for his arrest through dispatch.

He was taken into custody without incident.

NO CONTACT

Police charged Keith L. Turner, 24, of 15 Meeting St. Newport, with violating a no contact order and domestic trespassing early Friday morning.

Police said they were dispatched to a city address after a report that someone was banging on the door.

Police found Tuner, who said he had been kicked out of the shelter for three days and was trying to find a place to stay.

Because a court order bars Turner from contacting the resident or being at the address, he was arrested.
