Power Restoration Underway As Wind Advisory Continues
A wind advisory is in place across the state until 5 p.m.
Just over 300 Rhode Islanders remain without power Tuesday afternoon as strong winds continue to affect restoration efforts. The number of outages has decreased significantly since Tuesday morning, when more than 2,500 were without power.
National Grid spokesperson Ted Kresse said on Twitter that high winds have affected restoration efforts.
"We are working to restore power as expeditiously as possible, for safety reasons we can't have our crews in buckets in winds over 35 mph," Kresse wrote.

Wind gusts exceeding 50 miles per hour knocked down trees and power lines Monday, cutting power to more than 4,800 National Grid customers across Rhode Island.
Kresse said Sunday that more than 450 line crews and 250 forestry crews were called in ahead of Monday's windstorm.
