Prix Fixe Paradise! 16th Newport Restaurant Week Begins Friday
More than 50 restaurants are participating throughout Newport and Bristol Counties.

If your food routine has lacked variety lately, the perfect opportunity to try a new restaurant or return to an old favorite has arrived.
Newport Restaurant Week returns for its 16th celebration beginning Friday, Nov. 7, and this fall, more than 50 restaurants are participating, including a few newcomers to the roster like Sardella’s Italian Restaurant and Caleb & Broad, both located in Newport; Portsmouth Publick House in Portsmouth and the newly opened Christian’s Wood Fired Grill in Bristol.
Now is the time to see how Chef Matt Holms at @ the Deck in Newport puts his European influenced comfort food for a spin on the prix fixe menu. Get a Guinness and a burger or find out why Buskers Irish Pub and Restaurant in Newport is not just a great place to wet your whistle -- it’s a gastropub! Or find out why Chef Sai at DeWolf Tavern in Bristol is a four-time James Beard Foundation nominee. And how’s this for an old favorite: The White Horse Tavern, which has been doing the whole farm to table thing for 350 years!

The bi-annual tradition culminates with an event on Nov. 16 with revamped Taste of Newport benefiting Child & Family, the largest and most comprehensive social service provider in Newport. It marks Child and Family’s 30th anniversary and guests will be treated to an extended cocktail party with tasting stations followed by a four-course meal with eight of the area’s best chefs paired with “meticulously chosen wines from around the world,” a release states.

This year, Discover Newport unveiled a series of enjoyable “Restaurant Stories” clips on YouTube. They highlight local chefs, ingredients and just a small slice of the diversity and depth of the area’s food scene.
