Former Red Sox First Baseman, Bill Buckner to speak at the Festival of Hope, Friday, October 3, 2014
Bill Buckner, former Red Sox player, Greg Gagne, former shortstop for the Minnesota Twins, and Ken Bell, ABC 6 Sports Director will speak at the first Festival of Hope held at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The inspirational speakers will provide “Words of Hope During Turbulent Times” at this family friendly event that will include live music, food and kids’ activities. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
“We live in turbulent times: the headlines scream about terrorism, war in the Middle East, Ebola, high unemployment, and so on,” says Paul Hoffman, pastor of Evangelical Friends Church of Newport. “This event provides an opportunity for people to come together and discover hope for the future.”

The Festival of Hope is sponsored by five churches in Newport County: Evangelical Friends Church of Newport, CrossPoint Church, First Presbyterian Church of Newport, Portsmouth United Methodist Church and Salvation Army Newport.
