Registration Begins Soon for Newport's Fall Youth Soccer, Tennis, Homeschool Phys Ed

Registration for Newport’s fall soccer, tennis and homeschool physical education programs begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The deadline to register for some programs is Sept. 15 and a few could be full before that, so don’t dawdle.

Here’s the details:

Newport Recreation’s fall soccer season is scheduled to being September 19th and run through October 24th. Registration begins Tuesday September 8th. Deadline to register is September 15th. Some divisions may fill prior to the deadline. Cost is $35/residents and $45/non-residents.

All abilities welcomed! Pee Wee, Rookie and Intermediate Divisions offered. Learning soccer skills in a fun, positive environment is the Recreation philosophy! Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday –Friday. Phone: 845-5800

Newport Recreation will begin Youth Tennis Lessons on September 19th for 6 weeks. Instruction will be by Tina Schroeder, Co-Director of Elite Tennis Academy. All classes held on Saturday afternoons at Vernon Park. Class ages are: 4-5, 6-8, 9-10 and 11-13. Class size is extremely limited!! Cost is $50-$75 for residents and $60-$85 for non-residents. Newport Recreation will be offering Home School Phys Ed classes beginning Monday, September 21st and running for 6 weeks. Two age groups will be offered: 5-10 year olds meet 12:30 – 1:15 and 11-16 year olds will meet 1:15 – 2:00pm. Classes will consist of physical fitness and exercise through various games and activities. Pre-registration is required and registration is limited. Cost is $15 per person.
