Reminder: Trash Pickup Delayed this Week
If you accidentally put your trash and recycling out a day early, it's OK. You're not alone.
Due to the observance of Memorial Day on Monday, Newport residents are reminded that the trash schedule is on a one-day delay this week.
On a side note, yard waste collection is set to begin soon. It starts June 8 and will run through June 22.
Yard waste includes leaves, grass, plant clippings, and small sticks and branches. Branches are acceptable no larger than 4” in diameter and must be less than 3 feet long in either 32 gallon barrels or tied in reasonably sized bundles.

Yard waste will only be collected in brown paper leaf bags or loose in 32 gallon barrels. Yard waste will not be collected in plastic bags.
The 2015 recycling & solid waste calendar is available to download at www.cityofnewport.com/cleancity. Hard copies are available at City Hall, 43 Broadway and at the Clean City Program office at 80 Halsey St in the city yard.
