RI Weather: 6-8 Inches Of Snow Expected This Weekend
A winter storm watch has been called for most of Massachusetts in advance of the first major storm of the season.

The first major snow of the season could dump at least 6-8 inches of snow in Rhode Island. The National Weather Service said Thursday morning a winter storm watch is in effect for the northern half of the state. The storm is expected to start late Saturday night and last through Sunday, but specific times haven't been given.
The worst of the storm is expected in Coventry, Providence and other areas north of I-95. Anyone going to Massachusetts should beware: Between 1-2 feet of snow is expected. Taunton and Plymouth are looking at 6-8 inches and there should be up to 6 inches on the Cape.

It will be the first major snow of winter. Boston has received just 0.2 inches of snow since Oct. 1.
