RI Weather: Rain Dampens Unseasonably Warm Day

Despite a high of 54 in the Providence area, there's a 100 percent chance of rain with up to three-quarters of an inch possible.

While temperatures are scorching Friday by December standards at least, it doesn't look like we'll get a moment to go outside and enjoy it, at least without getting drenched. According to the National Weather Service, it's going to rain, and it's not going to let up.

Despite a high of 54 in the Providence area, there's a 100 percent chance of rain with up to three-quarters of an inch possible. It will be windy out there too with gusts reaching up to 33 mph. The night isn't likely to clear up either with rain expected to continue until about 11 p.m. Temperatures will only drop to a low of 45, but it's still going to be a wet and windy night.

Saturday is expected to be dry all day, but the warmer temperatures are not going to last. By 5 p.m., temperatures are expected to drop down to 39. By night, expect a low around 24. You're going to want to break out those layers again this weekend.
