RI Weather: Snow Totals Adjusted Amid Uncertain Storm Track
The National Weather Service adjusted the projected snow totals Monday night due to uncertainty over the storm's projected track.

RHODE ISLAND —The National Weather Service updated projected snow totals across Rhode Island Monday afternoon due to uncertainty about the storm's track. Lower accumulation is expected if the storm tracks offshore, while higher amounts are likely should it move further inland.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Monday until 12 p.m. on Tuesday for all of the state ahead of the second round of snowfall, which is expected to arrive late Monday, with the heaviest snowfall coming between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m.
For kids hoping for an extra-long weekend, Monday morning was a disappointment. Despite the nasty weather, no districts canceled school and only a handful, mostly Catholic and private schools, had delays. Several towns have declared parking bans amid the nasty weather, with more possible in the coming hours as communities brace for the second half of the storm. Patch will monitor school closings and parking bans and will provide updates.
