Rogers High School Granted Accreditation for 10 More Years

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Public Secondary Schools, has awarded the high school reaccreditation for the next 10 years.

On May 26, 2011, received official word that the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Public Secondary Schools, has awarded the high school reaccreditation for the next 10 years.

In a letter to the Principal Patti DiCenso, the Commission commended Rogers High School on the use of a systemic process to measure student proficiency in the academic expectations for student learning, clearly identified academic expectations for which each department is responsible, the use of school-wide rubrics to measure academic success and the development of these and course-specific rubrics across all content areas that connect curriculum to academic expectations for students and teachers.

Rogers High School was additionally applauded for the multiple opportunities provided to students to demonstrate success in the academic learning expectations and the extensive opportunities for students to extend learning beyond the normal school offerings.

The faculty was recognized for the environment of collegial cooperation and support and the personal investment demonstrated by all to remain committed to assessment analysis in order to drive student growth. While this is just a few of the highlights from the reaccreditation letter, it is most important to the school community that the sense of “Viking Pride” permeating the school culture was recognized and appreciated by the visiting committee of NEASC.

DiCenso and the entire faculty and staff of Rogers High School extend their appreciation of the report of the Commission and the many commendations that were received.
