Rogers Readies for Showdown Against Middletown
Coming off a strong win against Narragansett Friday night, the Vikings now move on to battle for first place in Division III Football.
Narragansett turned the ball over five times Friday night. The Rogers Vikings capitalized on many of them.
Rogers again provided a solid running game led by Christian Savage, who scored three touchdowns during the evening matchup at Toppa Field. Rogers' offense moved the ball at will against Narragansett, which couldn't make the quarterback-to-running back exchange over three times to force fumbles, giving Rogers the field advantage all night.
The Vikings scored on their first offensive possession after special teams blocked the first Narragansett kick. Rogers only had to go 10 yards, which Savage ran in from the three.

The Vikings (3-0 in Division) were called again for a few composure penalties and as they head into next week's homecoming game, there may be some old "Mr. Toppa" talk headed toward the players, as they are going to have to play their best football yet as they battle against the Middletown Islanders (also 3-0 in Division). This game isn't just for bragging rights on the island. The winner will also become the division lead.
The game next week is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Toppa Field.
