Saying Good Bye to Summer at the King House

The Edward King House Senior Center was abuzz today with 30 folks from our own membership and new friends from the Atria Senior Living in Portsmouth who came together to enjoy a "Say Goodbye to Summer" luncheon.

The delicious meal of freshly prepared oriental salad with a raspberry sorbet and fresh strawberry dessert presented by Atria's very own Executive Chef "Mo" was met by ooh's and aah's by all in attendance.

Barbara Dunder, Community Outreach Director at Atria, shared with the guests that "senior living isn't just about nursing homes anymore, it about finding what allows for the perfect balance of independence with having help available whenever you need it."

The group was treated to a short presentation on the history of the King House informally presented by Executive Director, Carmela Geer and staff member Walter Perryman. Program Coordinator Nick Gaj and Board of Director's Chair, Collette Bernard lent their expertise to making the event a smashing success.

Many thanks to our friends from Atria for making it all possible.
