Sen. DiPalma Honored for Home Health Care Professional Support

Sen. Louis DiPalma said the vital work of home care workers is "too often forgotten."

The Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care honored Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Newport, Little Compton, Tiverton) under the State House rotunda this week for his ” tireless efforts in advocating for the hard working home health care professionals of the state,” according to a State House news release.

“Our state’s home healthcare providers are an essential component to the well being of so many of our residents. Unfortunately, they, and their vital work, are too often forgotten with the constant changes to our healthcare system,” DiPalma said. “I am honored to advocate on their behalf to make sure their critical services to those that are most in need are duly recognized and compensated.”

“Senator DiPalma believes that CNA’s should not be earning close to minimum wage for healthcare services in which they deliver in the homes of our eldest, poorest and sickest Rhode Islanders. He believes they deserve a competitive wage and access to the same quality healthcare that they provide in the community. For these reasons, we would like to recognize Senator DiPalma as an advocate for the home healthcare community,” said Nicholas Oliver, executive director of the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care.
