Sneak Preview of "FULL DISCLOSURE: The Search For Medical Error Transparency" At St. John The Evangelist Church in the Point Section of Newport Wednesday, Oct. 29 @ 8PM

Sneak Preview of the upcoming documentary that anyone who has been treated in a hospital should see.

Hi friends and neighbors. I’m Larry Kraman and my editor Dillon Poole and I need your help. We are in the midst of doing final edits of our new film “FULL DISCLOSURE: The Search For Medical Error Transparency” and our standard procedure when we are at this stage is to show the film as a sneak preview to get feedback from and audience before we finalize the project.

In this case, because of the serious nature of the subject matter and the urgency of getting this important subject out to as many people as possible, we need an audience who has experienced medical care to see the film and let us know how well we are communicating our message.

The good people at St. John The Evangelist Church have offered us the Guild Hall to show the film. We are asking those who participate to pay what ever they can to come to the screening with a suggested donation of $5. This money will go towards a fund that will eventually allow the church to do a regular series of films during the winter months in Newport.

Please note that this issue is very important to Rhode Island. As you might have read, a few years ago, actor and Rhode Island native James Woods sued Kent County Hospital in Warwick for the death of his brother Michael due to a medical error. It was the ground breaking actions of the hospital’s new CEO Sandy Coletta that led to a satisfactory resolution to that matter with the apology by the hospital and the setting up of the Michael J. Woods Institute that focuses on redesigning healthcare systems using a human centered approach to improve clinical outcomes.

Also in the film are Point residents, Fr. Nathan Humphrey and Dr. Gary Cummins.

After the film we will have a Q & A session where you’ll have the opportunity to comment on the film and talk about your experiences as well.
