Stores Reopen As Power Gets Restored on Aquidneck Island
Aquidneck Island is returning to normal as power comes back on, neighborhood by neighborhood.
Essential area stores such as supermarkets and pharmacies are opening back up as power has slowly been restored to Aquidneck Island.
The three CVS Pharmacies in Middletown, Newport, and Portsmouth are back up and running.
The manager at CVS Pharmacy at 99 East Main Road, Middletown said the store just opened their doors at 3:55 pm.

The Stop and Shop at 250 Bellevue Ave, Newport has full power but at this time does not have any cold merchandise such as milk or ice.
"They just haven't restocked the shelves as of yet," said a clerk that answered the phone.

The Rite Aid located at 7 East Main Road, Middletown has been operating on emergency power all day but is now in full operation since being restored to the grid.
Stop and Shop located at 1360 West Main Road also used emergency power during the morning and afternoon today.
A phone call confirmed they have full power and are restocking the milk and dairy.
Shell Gas located at 560 Thames Street, Newport is closed and awaiting a fuel delivery. They ran out before the storm.
The Shell gas station located at 1149 West Main Road, Middletown just opened up and has a supply of fuel, as they received a delivery before the storm.
Also, help for those who continue to be without power but have well water may be on the way if needed, according to Middletown Town Administrator Shawn Brown, who said a plan was in the works if extended power outages continued. About 30 percent of the town relies on well water, he noted.
