Second-grader Jada Michalczik was determined for her class to win the competition (and the pizza party that goes to the winning class!) so she asked the workers at a local Dunkin Donuts if they would allow her to put a Pennies for Patients collection box on the counter to collect some change.
After two and a half weeks, the customers and staff had donated nearly $160. In addition, Jada spoke to the owner of Mama’s Boy music, who made a personal donation, and Jada’s grandmother who took up a collection from her friends as well. Jada ended up donating more than $220 to Mr. Taylor’s class’ collection.

We can’t say for sure, but think that this is the largest, single person donation in the many years that we have been collecting pennies for patients.
We are so proud of Jada and thrilled to be able to donate such a large amount to this great cause.
