Survivor is Cheered As She Finishes Final Half-Mile with Pal

Marathon bombing survivor Heather Abbott put on her bib — number 36399 — and completed the last half-mile of the marathon yesterday to the cheers of a champion.

“It makes me feel great to have so much support,” she told the media after finishing.

She was a courageous and inspirational sight all day as she walked through Boston Common and headed to Forum restaurant — where she lost her leg in last year’s marathon blasts near the finish line.
