War is hell, and during World War II war was at times too close and then very far away. Companies who needed to re-tool or were fortunate enough to supply materials to the effort also needed to re-assure the public they were all in the fight together.Â
I am fascinated by the illustrations of the period because they appear vibrant and exciting. Today, we are so visually overloaded, that if these seem amazing now - I wonder what someone felt as they viewed them in the 40's?
When I am searching for something from the past I can't help but look through old magazines. They are full of the icons of their times and not just celebrities.
