"The Thinking Man's Hillbilly" Bill Wayne Davis Takes the Stage at Comix at Foxwoods

Comix at Foxwoods hosts Billy Wayne Davis for a three-night, four-performance stand-up event, which kicks off Thursday, Dec. 18th at 8:00 pm

Since getting his start in stand-up in his hometown of Nashville, TN, Billy Wayne Davis, has been taking the comedy world by storm. Davis, who is known as the “thinking-man’s hillbilly,” is unassumingly clever in his delivery, especially with his deep voice, which comes complete with a southern twang. As the world around him swirls in a crazy tornado, Davis maintains a solid footing and offers up a calm commentary that manages to grab the debris caught up in the funnel cloud and makes sense of it all.

Davis has performed in virtually every corner of the United States. He’s opened for Louis C.K., Mitch Hedberg and Colin Quinn. Davis has also headlined the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot and Sketchfest in San Francisco.

Aside from his on-stage antics, Davis has appeared on TruTV and written for NFL on FOX. His Rooftop Records release, “Billy Wayne Davis,” was featured on SiriusXM and named one of Paste Magazine’s “Top Ten Comedy Albums of 2012.”
