The sun is out and skies are clear in Rhode Island Thursday morning, but more than 10,000 are still without power following powerful thunderstorms Wednesday evening. Since then, National Grid restored power to approximately 30,000 customers.

Immediately following the storm, more than 41,000 customers were without power, most in Providence County, the company reported. The bulk of outages — more than 9,000 — are still in that county, as of 10:30 a.m. National Grid estimated that power will be restored to all Rhode Islanders by 11:45 p.m.
