Traffic Advisory: Delays And Road Closures In Newport, Jamestown

NEWPORT, RI — Expect road closures and delays Sunday because of the eight annual Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run, the Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority announced Thursday.

Starting at 6:45 a.m., Sunday, police will be blocking off a few roads. Streets include:

• Jamestown – From 6:45-7:45 a.m., East Shore Road will be closed between the intersection of Conanicus Avenue and the Route 138 on and off ramps. Conanicus Avenue will be closed from the Jamestown Golf Course north to the Route 138 on-ramp for the Newport Pell Bridge.

• Newport Pell Bridge – From 7-8 a.m., only one lane will operate both westbound and eastbound.

• Newport – From 7:15-8:45 a.m., Farewell Street will be closed through America’s Cup Avenue. Van Zandt Avenue at the corner of Farewell will also be closed.
