Tropical Storm Isaias: More Than 100k Without Power In RI
The entire state remains under a tornado watch for the rest of the day.

More than 111,000 Rhode Islanders were without power Tuesday evening after Tropical Storm Isaias swept through the state, downing trees and power lines.
The outages span the state. National Grid said restoration times could vary depending on conditions such as downed tree limbs and other hazards and the continued high winds, which make it unsafe for crews to go up in trucks to work on lines.

National Grid reminded Rhode Islanders to never touch or approach a downed power line, and to always assume it is live. Similarly, never try to drive underneath a line that is blocking a road due to a fallen tree or other obstacle, instead, seek an alternate route.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for much of New England, including all of Rhode Island, until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Beaches in Newport and Middletown were closed due to the risk of storm surge and dangerous rip currents, and both the Block Island Ferry and Providence to Newport Ferry canceled trips Tuesday due to the inclement weather.
