Volunteers should be prepared to work a minimum of a three hour shift. Additionally, they should dress very warmly (hats, gloves, boots, long johns) and bring extra layers- it gets cold standing outside all evening. They should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty (jeans, sweatshirts) and be aware the ground may be muddy.
Ballard Park is located at the corner of Hazard and Wickham Roads in Newport. Volunteers should bring any forms they need signed to verify community service hours to the event. Anyone interested in volunteering, please e-mail education@ballardpark.org with the times and dates you are interested in volunteering along with your cell phone number.
