Winter Fest Is Here!

The has arrived! The snow has melted away just in time for ten days of fun and games with over 150 events and activities over the next week.

As New England's largest winter festival, there are over a dozen events each day. Take advantage of the “button prices” and experience all of Newport without putting a huge dent in your wallet.

Here's a run down of some of the events taking place this weekend.

Ghost Tour with owner Harle Tinney

Where/When: 5:30pm – 7:30pm at 657 Bellevue Ave. 

Why Go: Ghost Tour the Belcourt's museum. Mrs. Tinney will take you on a tour of her home and will tell you about her experiences with ghosts. (Not for kids under 8 years old.)

The Comedy & Magic of David Hall

Where/When: 7:30pm at the , Goat Island.

Why Go: Magic David is one of Boston's best magicians. His high-energy, funny comedy is unique and high intensity.

Ice Sculpting Demonstration 

Where/When: 11am-2:30pm at 23 America's Cup Avenue

Why Go: Watch Ice sculptors create masterpieces out of a block of ice.

16th Annual Chili Cook-Off 

Where/When: 11am - 3:30pm at the.

Why Go: Come down for the best chilis in town!

Pricing: $8, $6 with button. Children are $3, $2 with button. Children 5 and under are free. To enter your restaurant's chili, call (401) 847-7666.

Children's Fair 

Where/When: 11:30am-4pm  at the Ballroom.

Why Go: Face painting, balloon creations, arts and crafts, reptiles and more!

Paint Your Own Pottery

Where/When 1-5 p.m.  The 516 Thames Street.

Why Go: Get creative and paint your very own potter.

Pricing: Paint time for one is $9, $7 with button. Paint time for two or more is $7, $5 with button.
