Rhode Island Computer Museum Celebrates New Location In North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The Rhode Island Computer Museum celebrated its new location Monday.

The occasion was marked with a ribbon-cutting.

"It's ribbon cutting time!" the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce said in a social media post.

"We are so thrilled to celebrate the Rhode Island Computer Museum as they mark this incredible milestone!" the post said. "This is more than a ribbon cutting — it's a celebration of education, growth, and opportunity right here in our community."

"It’s been quite a time setting up our new facility and while we have welcomed many visitors already, it's now ribbon cutting time!" reads a post on the museum's Facebook page.

The museum is dedicated to "procuring and preserving items that relate to computer science and its history; disseminating knowledge, and encouraging research in computer science by means of visits, lectures, discussions, and publications. Inspiring young people for the future workforce by saving old and new technology," according to its website.

In the post about the ribbon cutting the chamber said, "This milestone represents their commitment to the community," the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce said.
