Artist Talk- Richard Polsky at the Jamestown Arts Center

Jamestown Arts Center is proud to host an Artist Talk on Thursday, April 14 at 6:00pm with Richard Polsky, NYC-based artist whose exhibit is currently on display in the JAC’s gallery. Polsky will discuss his process and background, including his time as a professor at Columbia University. Pulling from his vast experiences in education and the hundreds of interviews he’s conducted, Polsky will delve deep into the artist’s need to create. The event will include a demonstration of Polsky’s technique, exhibiting the influence of Abstract Expressionism on his work. This event is free and open to the public.

More about the artist: Polsky uses chop sticks, eyedroppers and brushes to create his rich, colorful paintings on hand-made Dieu Donné paper. A painter for forty years, Polsky creates compositions with a complex mixture of line, color and texture reminiscent of de Kooning, Krasner or Klee. This prolific artist has previously shown work in New York, Baltimore, Hong Kong, and Seoul. The exhibit at the Jamestown Arts Center is Polsky’s first New England exhibition.
