ArtVenture: Hiking with the Arts in Mind

Explore the open spaces in North Kingstown and you may find a piece of art that you can keep!  The North Kingstown Arts Council and Centreville Bank have commissioned 80 pieces of art that are hidden at Bush Hill, Calf Pasture Point, and Ryan Park.  If you find a piece of art, you may keep one.  We ask that you post your find at www.NKArtsCouncil.org.  Everyone's invited to our gala "Meet your Artist" night Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the NK Community Center.  We will have "Launch Sites" this Saturday at Bush Hill(entrance between the Wickford Gourmet and the Grateful Heart), Centreville Bank, West Main St. (We'll have information on all 3 sites here) and Ryan Park, Oakhill Rd.  Art is also hidden on the trail at Lafeyette Rd. Art will remain hidden through August 16. Some will be tricky to find but we haven't gone far off the main trail.  Please remember water, sunscreen, and insect repellent.  After hiking it's always a good idea to, while bathing, use a face cloth and vigorously rub over your body to get rid of ticks before they can bite.
