Blue Angels Returning To RI In 2023

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will return to Rhode Island's skies after a nearly three=year hiatus.

The Blue Angels are typically a staple at the Open House Air Show in Quonset, but the annual event has been canceled the past two years amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On June 24 and 25, 2023, the Blue Angels will return to North Kingstown, but it's unclear whether the appearance is connected to the Open House Air Show. Organizers of the Open House Air Show have yet to make a formal announcement on whether the event will return in 2022 or 2023.

The North Kingstown stop is the Blue Angels' only scheduled appearance in New England in 2023.

The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through flight. According to military officials, the air shows assist recruiting efforts and retention goals for the Navy and Marine Corps. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have performed for more than 500 million fans.
