UPDATED: Carbon Monoxide Incident Reported at North Kingstown High School

Nobody was seriously hurt and the fire department is investigating a possible chemical reaction earlier in the day.

The North Kingstown Fire Department was dispatched to the high school on Tuesday for a report of multiple people who might have suffered carbon monoxide poisoning during the day.

Nobody was seriously hurt, but firefighters responded at around 1:20 p.m. with multiple units for a report of multiple people who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned that the afflicted had left the scene and nobody was treated for any injuries by rescue personnel.

The local fire union, the International Association of Firefighters Local 1651, posted a tweet at 1:20 p.m. stating that “multiple units” were responding for “reported CO poisoning, multiple patients.”

About 30 minutes later, firefighters said that the incident “possibly involved [a] chemical reaction earlier in the day.”
