Cocumscussoc Association of Smith's Castle Annual Meeting
Cultivating the gem we call Smith's Castle!

Smith’s Castle held their Annual Meeting on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the North Kingstown Free Library Community Room.
Since 1949, the Cocumscussoc Association has continued to build a bridge to the past and has followed their mission to keep the rich history of the Castle alive and known to our North Kingstown community and the world.

Thanks to grants from the Champlain Foundation, the Rhode Island State Preservation Fund and and hundreds of volunteer hours we were able to complete projects that included carpentry, repainting and roof repair. We opened three walking trails to Meadow Brook, the icehouse, the spring and dairy barn foundations.We created Cocumscossoc: An Evolving Landscape trail and path guide for our newly opened trails.
An expansion of the Youth Education and Adult Education programs through partnerships with the community and local colleges and universities was highly successful this year.

With the exception of a part time office manager we are an all-volunteer force. Please join us in offering our efforts to create awareness of this historical gem we call Smith’s Castle.
