DMS Finds Second Bomb Threat In As Many Days

DMS principal announces a second bomb threat at the middle school.

North Kingstown police responded to Davisville Middle School for the second time in as many days after another bomb threat was discovered at the school.

Principal Ruthanne Logan notified parents of the threat via e-mail this afternoon. According to her e-mail, school officials found a threatening message ("bomb at school") written on a classroom desk around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday. Police arrived at the school to take photos and handwriting samples.

"Although I am very disappointed to have to report this information to you, I feel I must share it and ask you for your assistance," said Logan in her e-mail. "Please take a moment to talk with your child and be vigilant about monitoring their internet usage on social networking sites.  If any information comes to your attention that is relevant to this incident, please contact the school immediately."

On Tuesday, police apprehended a student in connection with which resulted in the evacuation and early dismissal of students.
