Embury Tapped to be Town Administrator in Brewster, Mass.
The Brewster Board of Selectmen offered the job to North Kingstown Town Manager Michael Embury on Tuesday.

The Board of Selectmen in Brewster, Mass., has decided to offer the job of Town Administrator to North Kingstown Town Manager Michael Embury.
Embury was one of three finalists for the job in that town and the Brewster Board of Selectmen had been interviewing the candidates this week.
Embury was the board’s choice over Ronald San Angelo, administrator for the town of Hanson; and Harwich Town Administrator Chris Clark.

San Angelo told the board earlier this week that he already was negotiating a contract with a different town but still came to be interviewed because he was still interested.
Both Embury and San Angelo were finalists for the administrator job in the town of Mashpee, Mass., but both were passed over for that town’s police chief Rodney Collins.

Embury, if terms of a contract are agreed upon, will replace outgoing Town Administrator Charles Sumner, who is retiring after 30 years.
Embury has made no secret of his desire to move on to new pastures.
Embury, who has served in North Kingstown since 2007, was the runner-up in a manager search in Middleboro, Mass., last year. At the time, he said though he loves North Kingstown, he wanted to keep his options open with an election coming up and all signs pointing to increasing heat from the council.
This is a developing story.
