“Art School in a Week!” is an intensive art experience created by artist David Schock to rapidly and effectively teach the basics of drawing and painting taught in the first year of art school. Art school usually involves a great deal of wasted time on discussion and lengthy, repetitive analysis. This class cuts through all this and directly teaches hands on skills needed by the art student both quickly and powerfully. The first part of the week covers the art of seeing like and artist, drawing skills and beginning painting. The second half covers painting skills in greater depth. All students are guaranteed to experience a dramatic improvement in their artwork, to learn the basics of first year drawing and painting, and to start several canvases, and to create at least two finished paintings by the end of the course.
Instructor David Schock has been a professional full time artist for over twenty years, exhibiting in fine galleries in the USA and England, including one-man galleries in Carmel, CA and Newport, RI. . Over thirty thousand originals and prints of the artist's works are in circulation world wide. His artwork has appeared in "House Beautiful", as set pieces in film and network television, and as book covers.
He is an award winner in painting at the Copley Society in Boston, has been honored as a featured artist with the "Boston Pops", and is in the collection of the New England Sports Museum at TD Garden. David's artwork can be seen at: davidschock.com, the David Schock Gallery on facebook, and davidschock.blogspot.com
